About Us

  FADO Consulting was founded in May 2010 and provides varied consulting and advisory services to the mining and public sector in:

          •         mineral exploration;

          •         audits of underground monitoring systems on operational mines; and,

          •         socio-economic aspects of mine closure.

  FADO Consulting's focus is on risk mitigation and optimisation of available resources accomodating longer-term sustainability.

  We have more than 50 years combined experience working for private sector companies such as Anglo American, De Beers and

  Gold Fields, a public sector donor, the German Agency for Technical Development and academia, the University of the Witwatersrand. 

  Our approach is consultative, ensuring a thorough understanding of the clients’ needs.

  FADO Consulting's completed projects include, among others:

  •          laying the foundation for a theoretical understanding of the development of definitions, interpretations, reporting on sustainability and

             sustainable development in relation to the social and environmental impact of platinum mining;

  •          outlining a practicable model in which the platinum sector, government and society partner to augment an industrial sector in secondary     
             beneficiation located beyond mining;

  •          target generation using satellite imagery for platinum, gold and diamond and base metal exploration;

  •          conducting independent system audits on underground monitoring systems installed in coal, gold and diamond operations.
